What does the whale have to do with menopause?

The short answer

You might have wondered why we chose a whale as our logo. For us, it carries a powerful message, symbolising the value and significance of menopausal women.

The long answer

Female killer whales and women are among the few mammals who live long after their reproductive years. The theory is that older women, like older female whales, are such valuable assets to their families and communities that evolution has decided they should live well past the age at which they can produce offspring. While it’s rewarding to be such a valuable asset, it can also be exhausting. Even postmenopausal whales no doubt need moments to recharge.
